Get ready for an action-packed day as the City of Aiken Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department presents the 22nd annual Touch-A-Truck. This year's event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 at the H. Odell Weeks Activities Center, 1700 Whiskey Road.
This family-friendly event is free and open to the public and provides an opportunity for children to climb, sit, and explore a wide array of vehicles.
This year, a diverse lineup of vehicles from local businesses and organizations will be on display, including contributions from the City of Aiken and community partners, who are dedicated to making this annual event a memorable and educational experience for families.
To accommodate all guests, the event will feature a Sensory Hour from 9-10 a.m., during which, sirens, lights, and horns will be limited for a quieter, more comfortable experience. Additionally, food vendors and a variety of other activities will be available throughout the event to ensure a fun-filled day for everyone.
The Power Wheels Derby kicks off at 10 a.m., and registration is $5. Participants must be 8 years of age or younger and must bring their own helmet and vehicle. Space is limited. To register online, visit coa.page/pfaa. To register in person, visit the H. Odell Weeks Activities Center.
This year’s event is sponsored by Duke’s Bar-B-Que and Oh Mie Stelle! Bakery.
For those interested in participating in the Touch-A-Truck Event as a vehicle contributor, vendor or sponsor, call 803-642-7600, then press 3, or visit the City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Facebook page for more information. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter @aikenparksrec.
