The rain from Tropical Storm Debby arrived in Aiken Monday afternoon and is expected to continue through Thursday.
The National Hurricane Center predicted the Aiken area would receive 4-8 inches of rain as Debby makes its way along South Carolina's Atlantic Coast.
Dave Myers, planner and public information officer for Aiken County Emergency Management, said there had been no major damage reported. He added a few trees had fallen.
Aiken City Manager Stuart Bedenbaugh said city staff removed a few limbs from roadways but added there is no major damage to report. He said the city stands ready to respond when more trees and limbs fall.

Tropical Storm Debby brings postponements, cancellations to Aiken events

Dominion Energy reported four customers without power in Aiken County. Of the customers out of power, two are in the Aiken Estates neighborhood and two are in North Augusta.
Aiken Electric Cooperative reported no customers without power in Aiken County.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation reports one closed road in Aiken County: Old Shoals Road.
Old Shoals Road is located off of Wire Road north of I-20 in northern Aiken County.
The city of Aiken canceled all activities after 5 p.m. Tuesday. The Aiken Design Review Board meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday has been rescheduled to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 15.

Agencies cooperate in 'Healthcare for the Homeless'

Team Stinky Kiss, a local non-profit dedicated to rescuing and rehoming abandoned animals, established a pet evacuation center at the Aiken County Fairgrounds to serve evacuees arriving from the coast.
